Introduction

Improved space-borne AIS channel receiver was piggybacked into the orbit by TT-3, successfully receiving information concerning ship type, position, speed and course of the global ships. The reception ability of the improved space-borne AIS channel receiver on TT-3 is about 10 times that of AIS receiver on TT-1, which has reached the international advanced level. The data received has been successfully employed by the Ministry of Communications, the Electric Power Research Institute, and many other units.
