Introduction

LilacSat-2 is launched successfully in September, 2015, which is used for investigating nano-satellite’s possible role in the future space equipment and the development of national economy. The satellite builds flight software on-orbit testing platform and verifies the reliability of FPGA in the space environment; additionally, it can gather the status information such as global ships and aviation flights; infrared camera can realize the imaging and monitoring of geothermal changes resulting from forest fire and extreme weather etc.; two sets of ultra-light high-precision sensor are onboard to carry out in-orbit test.

 

 

 Nanosat team made up of students

 

 

LilacSat-2 is a nanosat which is self-financed by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). Leading by a student group in HIT, LilacSat-2 is the first satellite in China which is independent-designed, developed and controlled by students.
